So much for parity between "elite" teams in the NFC and the only really good teams (two in the AFC). The Patriots served notice on the best team in the NFC by punishing them on their own turf in a 48-27 Texas trouncing.
Tom Brady passed for a career-high 5 TDs, and despite actually trailing in the second half, the Pats turned on the after-burners to lay waste to the 'Boys in the 4th Quarter. Wes Welker caught an astounding 11 passes, Stallworth 7 and Moss 6 in an offensive onslaught that saw the Pats score the most points in 23 years. Sorry, Bob Ryan. Yawn.
